Walt write a report on whales

Whales

Whales are mammals that give birth to live babies and when it is born it has to go up to the surface to breathe then it goes to feed on the mother’s milk.

Whales can communicate by making different sounds like squeaking, clicking and thumping. They do this to get in touch with other whales.

The whale’s tail doesn’t move side to side like fishes and sharks. The whale’s tail moves up and down to swim faster. A whale’s skin is soft, oily and smooth.

There are two groups of whales – whales without teeth and whales with teeth. Whales with teeth eat big sea animals like dolphins, squids and seals. The whales with no teeth can only eat small sea animals that stick inside their bristles. Blue whales can eat up to 8 tons of food a day.
Whales can blow water up to ten meters high when they go above the water for air. They use their lungs to breathe. They don’t have gills like fish.

Whales can get stranded very easily. Lots of whales can get confused because of storms. Lots of people try to help whales when they get stranded.
